The Boston Acoustics AVP7 is an extremely versatile high-end audio component. A preamplifier (to me at least) is the perfect harness for all of our devices, at least from an audio control standpoint. Computers, I-Devices, Phones, DVD, Satellite, Turntable, Etc - this preamp can control them all with a front input open for the guests!

The second zone with it's own remote is a nice feature as well. A preamp should not get in the way, and the AVP7 is certainly audiophile worthy, as clean sounding as these ears have heard. Don't hesitate to pick one up if you get lucky enough to have the chance!

Has anyone here heard the Boston Acoustics AVR7120 receiver? I'm helping a friend put a system together and can get a deal on one for $1k.

Thw $1K deal is awesome, but I would check the return/exchange policies in case of non satisfaction and/or incompatibility. By the way, the AVP7 and the AVR7200 is a better combo, if the vendor you are considering has similer deals on these. Arcam has an impeccable reputation for amps as well but when they relearsed their first AV receiver, subsequent models had to make significant improvments; that's just the nature of producing new products—it doesn't come out perfect the first time. But, hey: it's not my $1k.
