We do have two CSD-5300s (and about 6 racks of other Leitch gear;) which are (apparently) fed time sync from a GPS receiver. However, the CSD-5300 appears to only have BNC connectors available (there are lots of other ports, but most of them are in use with our rather daunting installation; put in place by engineering for the outgoing video signals).

Can anyone confirm or deny that I can hang a TCI-232 or TCI-500 module off the back of the CSD-5300, and connect the TCI module to the serial port on a given server (Solaris/Sparc in this case) and still use the Leitch driver? I would guess that the answer is yes, but would rather not spend the $600 only to find out it doesn't work - especially when I could pick up a CDMA-synced box for $1500 and bypass the whole issue. Anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with the Leitch CSD-5300 in the ntp world? (Or, alternately, with any CDMA-sync devices?) The objective is to provide a Stratum 1 server, yet something on Leitch's site mentions a similar setup as being Stratum 3. (I know, I know; it's mostly only a number.

Still, if we open the server to the outside world as Stratum 1, it would be nice to have accurate time. ) All suggestions welcome!
