I have encountered a problem in Windows 7. This subject of which I am speaking, is that I, for some time, have been unable to change my desktop background. The background is now quite black it is, and it is still black when I try to change it. Indeed I suspect, that this is related to the error which I have been receiving awhile, concerning some application called Catalyst Control Centre. What am I to do so as to fix this problem?

One thing I read that worked for some people: Click the Start orb and in the box carefully enter (or copy/paste):%userprofile% appdata local Then if you see a folder called ATI (that is where the Catalyst Control Center stuff is), rename the folder to something you can remember like ATI.old: The go back to your desktop, right click and choose Graphics Properties and if the Catalyst Control Center is able to launch, it will create a new ATI folder for you: If that doesn't work or things get worse rename the ATI.old folder back to ATI. I must confess that, unfortunately, this folder of which you spoke, did not exist there.
