West Peoria- John M. Jordan, age 88, of West Peoria, passed away at 12:35 PM on Wednesday, May 03, 2017 at Proctor Hospital. Born October 14, 1928 in Oklahoma City, OK, he was a son to Walter J.

Eberle Jordan. He was a graduate of Manual High School in Peoria. On June 24, 1950 John married Mary E. Grawey of St. Mark Catholic Church.

John worked as a Transmission Inspection Analyst for Caterpillar for the majority of his life until his retirement. He was a member of UAW Local 974 and a past member of The Knights of Columbus, Spalding Council #427.

John will be remembered truly as a jack-of-all-trades, so much so, that he built his family home from the ground up. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, and was an over all outdoors person who loved camping and fishing. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Mary of West Peoria; two children, John (Diane) Jordan of Dunlap and James (Tiffany) Jordan of Peoria; one grandson Joseph Jordan; and one sister Mary Ann Grimm of Sycamore, IL. John was preceded in death by his parents, one brother James Jordan and one sister Dorothy Tauscher. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 9:00 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. Franciscan Friars will officiate and burial will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum. Memorials in John’s memory may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Holy Family Catholic School.
